Xalan + GreatCircle on Solaris

Has anybody ever tried running a transformation under GreatCircle on 
solaris?  One of the developers here is complaining that it seg faults 
every time he does it, but it never crashes in normal operation.  I'm 
suspecting that this is some bad side-effect because of what 
GreatCircle is doing and that we shouldn't worry about it (Purify seems 
to work fine), but I was wondering if anyone here had experienced this 
problem (or not) before.
