Lenya Releases

Will there be releases of Lenya again?

On <http://cocoon.apache.org/lenya/installation/download.html> there is
a link "Releases" <http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/cocoon/lenya/>
pointing to empty directories only.

What is the best download for a beginner?

Thanks Thorsten and Ken for your attention.
It's much more fun to use clear instructions instead of testing the
different combinations!

Yes, a bit confusing! Only the file name of these instructions tells you
that actually they ONLY apply to the installation of the source code
version. Therefore you need to do 11 before 9!

So you need to:

11 Extract the downloaded Lenya archive to a directory of your choice.
9 Copy the Cocoon build properties supplied by Lenya
10 Compile Cocoon
12 Configure Lenya
13 Build Lenya

BTW, you don't need to install Cocoon, just build Lenya against it.

Hope this helps!

I already spent much time on this but I still find it quite confusing.

How can I

    9. Copy the Cocoon build properties supplied by Lenya

before

   11. If you have downloaded the source version: Extract Lenya

makes it available to copy?

I guess some of steps 8, 9, 10 should be omitted if proceeding step 11,
right? But which ones?

CVS contains the newest SOURCE code. Many issues have been resolved in
that version since 1.2 release.

To install the cvs version follow
http://cocoon.apache.org/lenya/installation/source_version.html.

Hi Andreas,

I saw that it was you writing many of the instuctions on
<http://cocoon.apache.org/lenya/>.

In "Lenya CVS Guide" you describe "CVS for the public" how I can get the
CVS version.

What do I get from there and how to proceed with it? Is that comparable
to the bin version from nightly snapshot or similar to source version to
be built together with Cocoon?

I would suggest to use the CVS version because you won't have to
download and customize the complete distribution when you make an
update.

That is from where I've got that version with broken ipv6 (my previous
posting).

Now I have to decide between Nightly Snapshot and cvs version. Which one
would you suggest?
