Document exists

Hello

Is there a way to check the existance of a document first way before
going through the pipelines, i.e. without getting a
document-does-not-exist-exception or resourceNotFound and handling
them in the error-handlers?

If I use the page-envelope input module for non-existing documents
configuration exceptions are thrown, which I don't know how to
handle properly.

Thanks

Felix

What are you trying to accomplish?
Catch broken links?
