j2:quickStart cannot download jar files
Hello:
When I run:
maven j2:quickStart
I get this output:

Attempting to download portals-bridges-common-.jar.

Attempting to download portals-bridges-velocity-.jar.
WARNING: Failed to download portals-bridges-velocity-.jar.
Attempting to download derby-.jar.
WARNING: Failed to download derby-.jar.
The build cannot continue because of the following unsatisfied dependencies:
portals-bridges-common-.jar
portals-bridges-velocity-.jar
derby-.jar
Total time: 10 seconds
Finished at: Sun Jan 15 14:42:01 CST 2006
Any ideas what went wrong?
Thanks,
Neil

What I did was to manually copy project.properties from my
$JETSPEED_HOME directory to the generated portal directory. At least
with my setup (using j2 plugin) I had to do this manually.

Maven Plugin. Followed instructions on the website
http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/getting-started-source.html
It all worked, apart from those named JARS not working.

Hey,
I have had the same problem. I had to manually specify them in
build.properties in order to get it to download.

the version numbers of the generated dependencies in the jetspeed-components.xml
are not substituted because of missnamed variables in the templates for it.
<!-- Portals Bridges Apis -->
<dependency>
<id>org.apache.portals.bridges:portals-bridges-common</id>
<version>
${portals.bridges.version}
</version>
<properties>
<war.bundle>false</war.bundle>

</dependency>
<dependency>
<id>portals-bridges-velocity</id>
<groupId>org.apache.portals.bridges</groupId>
<version>
${portals.bridges.version}
</version>
<properties>
<war.bundle>true</war.bundle>
</properties>
</dependency>
In the project.properties this version numbers are defined as
portals.bridges.common.version=1.0
portals.bridges.velocity.version=1.0
> derby-.jar
I don't see the point why this isn't substituted in the core-build.xml.
