Start Gateway issue

Hi all,

When i try to start gateway as root, i get the following exception:

gateway must not be run as root

Even if knox was downloaded and installed by the root.

What is the issue here?

Aneela,
Jeff is correct.  This is an intentional check.  Services should not be run as root as this can result in security issues.

Hi Aneela running services as non root is more secure. it is very common for services to run as non root like web servers, databases, etc.
