reload properties with default initialization?

is there any reason not to make the default
initialization code, from the Category static
initializer, available as a public static method?

i want to be able to reload my properties, on-demand,
without hardcoding the use of, say,
PropertyConfigurator.

or is there some other way to do this that i'm
missing?  thanks.
