Description:
There are released versions of Avalon Repository which were never actually released via the ASF distribution mirrors. A look at http://apache.org/dist/avalon/avalon-repository/ reveals:

  * src and binary zip/tar distributions of 1.2
  * jar distributions of 1.0b1

However, a look at ibiblio.org (http://ibiblio.org/maven/avalon-repository/jars/) or dpml.net (http://dpml.net/avalon-repository/jars/) reveal a much larger set of releases, and not just snapshots.

Moreover, the links on the Avalon Repository site do not point to the ASF distribution mirrors at all.

Recommend all stable releases be on ASF as well as ibiblio and dmpl. Also that web site documentation list proper locations for downloads.
