a tool to create dynamic content in pages
Hi all,
I have developed a tool for the University of Geneva to access databases
from Lenya. It allows inserting dynamic content within static content
in Lenya pages.
The idea is first to create connections and requests in an interface,
and then to add a special tag in your Lenya pages to insert the fetched
result. The presentation is made through a XSL stylesheet.
We thought it could be useful to everyone. Accordingly, if you are
interested, you can find the project (called LenyaDB) here:
http://lnxweb1.unige.ch/lenya/wiki/index.php/LenyaDB
The documentation is quite rough, but you will find there the procedure
to install it on the default Lenya publication.
Hope this might be useful.
Best regards,
Nicolas

absolutely. this helps a lot to figure out what people are doing with
databases. i think we should have a simple database integration sample
in lenya

very cool! i especially like the screenshots :)

building one-off queries is an often requested feature, so it would make
sense to build on this (maybe as a plugin, once we figure out how to do
this)
i would be interested to hear what your main problems were, and how you
solved them (maybe better on the dev list)
