Estimated ship date and estimated delivery date

Hello all,

What is the reason behind keeping the estimated ship date and the estimated
delivery date non-editable at the order overview page?

Can we make these fields editable like ship after date and ship before date?

Making these fields editable will help the users to better allocate and
manage their inventories (a new feature 'Inventory Allocation Feature' is
in the discussion, OFBiz-10518
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-10518>). Apart from this,
these fields can be used in better communication with the customers about
the delivery of the order.

Thanks & Regards

So we're talking about sales orders that have been approved (and processed
obligation-wise accordingly)?

Because of this, from that approval moment, moving forward, everything
next is set to happen in the facility application (picking, packing,
shipping), and the customer, (e.g. through ecommerce), the SFA worker
and/or the order manager are supposed to move from being in the driver seat
to the passenger seat.

Yes, these parties should be able to request/initiate rescheduling of
shipment (and subsequently have a new - calculated - delivery date).. But
to have editable fields on the overview field could/would be leading to
wrong messages (to users, and to developers) regarding expectations...
Instead I would suggest that this handled through a process of
order-change-request/change-request-accpetance (workflow) that ultimately
leads to an addendum on the order (e.g. through note-functionality), and
the order overview always showing current (aka latest-know) date values.

Best regards,

Pierre Smits

Hi Deepak,

Can you, for the convenience of understanding the context better, provide
links to appropriate screens in one of the demo sites?

Best regards,
