   I'm not sure if the main goal of the feature has come up yet, but we are certainly not doing this to avoid orgServerFQDN conflicts (thats just a complicating factor).
   
   The main driver for this change is a desire of some customers to have edge servers use the origin as a parent when all mid caches are down. 
   
   Today, when all mids in an edge's parent (and secondary parent) CG are down, the edge cannot retrieve content. This change would set go_direct=true so that if those mids are down, the edge can retrieve the content from the origin
