Jira notification configuration

In case you're new to Jira and wish to receive notifications when a VCL Jira 
issue has been created or updated, here are the steps that seem to work for me:

Create a filter to locate VCL issues created or updated within the past day:
-Click on the Filters drop-down in the upper-right corner
-Manage Filters
-Click New
-Set the following criteria:
    Project: VCL
    Updated: From -1d (within the last day)
-Click Save above the filter criteria
-Choose a name "VCL - updated within last day"
-Save

Subscribe to the filter:
-Click on the Filters drop-down in the upper-right corner
-Manage Filters
-Click Subscribe next to the new filter
    Schedule: Daily, choose a time
-Click Subscribe
