Création d'un document

Bonjour,
dans une application, je récupère un objet XMLDBSource et je 
souhaiterais y créer un document "_counter.xml" comme suit :

<counter name="maBase" count="leBonNombre"/>

En regardant les javadocs, pas moyen de trouver ce que j'y cherche. En 
particulier pour donner une valeur aux attributs "name" et "count".
Est-ce possible ?
