Indexing Rave with Apache Solr

Dear Rave community,

in our integration effort we are trying to use Rave as a portal and entry
page and integrated it with Jasig CAS for SSO und XWiki to provide
activities, as well as Alfresco.

Our next step is use Apache Solar as a search engine for all systems and now
we are struggling with the dynamic content in Rave loaded via JavaScript.

Does anybody have a suggestion, how we could index Rave contents when the
search engine does not execute the JavaScript code?

Regards

René

Is the idea to index the widget metadata or the actual content inside the widget on a particular portal page?

The widgets themselves have a metadata representation in the Rave widget store that can be pushed to Solr easily enough.

Could you use the profileUrl field in Shindig's person object?

AW: Indexing Rave with Apache Solr

Posted by René Peinl <re...@hof-university.de>.
Dear Matt and Scott,
thanks for your suggestions. We are mainly looking into indexing the profile
pages of the users. We have extended them to show additional information
from the REST API in Shindig and therefore used an OpenSocial Gadget to do
so. That is becoming our problem now.
The metadata doesn't help us much. To directly index the Shindig contents
would be feasible I guess, but how do we link the results to the RAVE
profile page afterwards?

Are you needing content fromt the widgets indexed or just Rave itself?
If you are, could you provide API endpoints to expose that data to Solr?
