Concerns over Hue inclusion

Changing threads: Owen, please don't reply in the VOTE thread with
anything but a clearly spelled out vote. It helps us to keep discussion
separate from the voting process. Thanks.

The discussion on the incubator general has established that there's
absolutely no issue with including *code* that supports Hue into the
Bigtop source tree. That future code will be part of the Bigtop and as
such will be part of the Apache Foundation Project. No Hue source
code will be added to the Bigtop repository.

Now, it seems that you still have some additional concerns wrt. convenience
artifacts. If that's the case, may I suggest that you articulate them clearly
within the same thread on incubator general?

Thanks,
Roman.

Then, you are entitled to express your opinion as a -0 or -1.
Please attach a short explanation and I will make sure to attach
it to the vote tally. Thank you.

As I said this is not the place to discuss this. The incubator general
and perhaps some other ASF aliases where policies are discussed
is. If you feel passionate about your opinion -- feel free to take it
over there and try to persuade the majority.

ASF works by consensus. So far you seem to have failed to generate
any. If that changes -- I'll be the first one to comply.

Thanks,
Roman.

It was clearly relevant. I was saying that I don't think the proposed
contents is an appropriate release. The discussion is part of the vote
and shouldn't be short-circuited by pulling it into a separate thread.

That was never the concern. The concern is that Bigtop is planning to
package and distribute a project that isn't an Apache project. That
hasn't been resolved at all and Bigtop can't reasonably release
including Hue until it is. This will likely hold up any Bigtop release
that tries to include Hue.
