Deloying and testing REST API changes
Hi All,
I am modifying the REST API for adding domain mappings, to include support
for cluster id. I have made code changes. These changes are in
org.apache.stratos.rest.endpoint.
So just wondering how can I replace just this binary in Stratos and test
the API? Instead of building and replacing the entire Stratos.
Thanks and Regards,
Swapnil

Hi Swapnil,
Yes that is the webapp file. Replace the same war file and the directory
named 'api' in the <STRATOS_HOME>/repository/deployment/server/webapps
location using the api.war which has the custom changes.
For other component changes (jar), you will need to apply it as a patch to
<STRATOS_HOME>/repository/components/patches directory. Just create a
directory named 'patch5555' or similar, and copy your jar to that
directory. Restart the server. You will see a log appearing in server
startup similar to 'patch changes detected'.

Hi Isuru,
I have api.war file in the target directory and in the path you mentioned.
I hope this is what you wanted to say.
One more thing, I also have few changes in org.apache.stratos.common. In
this case, just replacing the war file is enough?
Thanks and Regards,
Swapnil

Hi Swapnil,
Build the org.apache.stratos.rest.endpoint component with your changes. You
will find a webapp stratos.war in the target directory. Replace the same
war file and the exploded web app files (stratos directory) under
<STRATOS_HOME>/repository/deployment/server/webapps with the newly built
one, and restart the server.
