Goodbye and hello.

This isn't really about Subversion development, but I hope the list
won't mind a brief personal statement.

Today is my last day at CollabNet.  In December of 1999, Brian
Behlendorf emailed me saying that CollabNet was going to write a new
version control system, and asked if I was interested in joining.  The
six years since then have been an amazing time, and both the software
and the community that resulted are clearly here to stay.

Subversion today is the work of many people, and has a tremendously
active developer group -- but at the same time, without CollabNet's
vision and investment, Subversion would not exist.  I thank CollabNet
for starting the project, for staying behind it for as long as it
took, and most of all for giving me one of the best experiences of my
life.  And note that CollabNet's commitment to Subversion remains as
strong as ever: Garrett, David, Mike, and Daniel are still here and
will still be working on Subversion.  I'm looking forward to coding
with them as a volunteer developer.

There are many reasons why I decided to change jobs now; I won't go
into them here, except to say that they are entirely personal and not
about CollabNet, which is a great place to work and which I'm going to
miss a lot.  I'm happy to talk off-list with anyone about my new job,
but I wanted this mail to be just about CollabNet.

I'll be on vacation for the month of April, unsubscribed from all
Subversion lists.  After that I'll be participating in the project as
a private citizen.  See you in May, and happy hacking!
