tcl8.4 ?
Hrm... apparently my const'ification has broken a few things, when
compiling against Tcl 8.4. I did it quickly and mechanically, so I'll
have to go back and look at the errors and see what's going wrong.
It also seems that compiling against a threaded Tcl may introduce some
other issues:-/

So, I got it working - it passes all the tests now!
Now... let's see if we can get it working with threads.
