View a spread sheet in a java container or window.

Hello, is it possible to view a spreadsheet in a java container, or can I apply mouse events to the spreadsheet. For example if I drag and select a certain area on the spread sheet I read only the selected portion. Or if I click on a cell I get the contents of that cell.
