[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-15932) Make max logfile size and number of files to keep configurable as sysprops

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-15932?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17477837#comment-17477837 ]

Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-15932:
------------------------------------

An alternative would be to change into daily logs named {{yyy-mm-dd-solr.log}} and have just one argument for how many days to keep. Who will not have space for at least one day worth of logs? WDYT? I have never liked the {{solr.log.N}} format where you never know which file to inspect for a given time interval... WDYT?

> Today you have to edit log4j config file or create your own to tailor how much solr logs you want to retain. This Jira will make these two configurable as system properties.
