Update Notification

What is the status of update notification in Xerces?  I would like to 
install listeners that will fire when a node is changed.

I've heard that Xerces does not support update notification.  If this 
is the case, (forgive me for asking here) are there any decent 
Java-based XML parsers/DOM implementations that do support update 
notification?
