This only seems to be happening with the new types of projects (Maven, Gradle) but not with old ones (Ant).

 

Also some of the pre-filled values on the second screen of the wizard are retained when they should be: Create a new Gradle Project, inspect the suggested values; then go back and create a Maven project – the name is retained; then go back and create a Gradle project – see the Package Name Base.
