An interesting alternative suggested by Daniel/Jan is to use the buildbot output directories at
  http://ci.apache.org/projects/openoffice/install/
also for the release-like milestone builds. Since we want to use the buildbots to build releases this is a good idea anyway. For now the buildbots cannot yet create builds that work on the target baselines though.

But if the ci.apache.org server allows faster uploads than the people server (about 40kB/sec during the day) then giving jsc and me (hdu) ssh access to a server that can write to the buildbot output directory would be a great bandaid for now.
