For Ambari integration Knox will need to support a topology files in a properties file format.  Investigation with the Ambari team needs to be done to determine if this is a Java properties file format or a Hadoop configuration file format.  Support for properties files should be additive so that both xml and properties files format work.  These two files are the place to start: gateway-server/src/main/java/org/apache/hadoop/gateway/topology/file/FileTopologyProvider.java, gateway-server/src/main/java/org/apache/hadoop/gateway/topology/xml/XmlTopologyRules.java
