[jira] [Updated] (KAFKA-9333) Shim `core` module that targets default scala version (KIP-531)

Randall Hauch updated KAFKA-9333:
---------------------------------
    Fix Version/s: (was: 2.6.0)
                   2.7.0

Since this is not a blocker issue, as part of the 2.6.0 release process I'm changing the fix version to `2.7.0`. If this is incorrect, please respond and discuss on the "[DISCUSS] Apache Kafka 2.6.0 release" discussion mailing list thread.

> Introduce a shim `core` module that targets the default scala version. This useful for applications that do not require a specific Scala version. Java applications that shade Scala dependencies or Java applications that have a single Scala dependency would fall under this category. We will target Scala 2.13 in the initial version of this module.
