can't edit data source
I see the JIRA (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-3931) about
error when trying to delete a data source at the console, but I get a
similar error when trying to edit a data source. Is this a known problem?
geronimo.log says
INFO [SupportedModesServiceImpl] Portlet mode 'edit' not found for
portletId: '/system-database.DBWizard!1134683811|0'

You're right, it works in Firefox!
But http://support.microsoft.com/kb/208427 says MSIE should be able to
handle much longer URLs than the 770-character URL I'm using. The URLs are
identical in MSIE versus Firefox, so I don't know why it doesn't work in
MSIE.
Deleting a data source also works now. Thanks David! You have been very
helpful on this and other problems I've had.

Is it possible that the url exceeds a length restriction in IE? Is
there any chance you could try with say firefox?
thanks

I was on 2.0.2, and am now on 2.1. And I can't edit the data source.
Clicking edit yields "Cannot find server" / "The page cannot be displayed"
in Internet Explorer on a URL like
http://localhost:8080/console/portal//Services/Database%20Pools/__ac0x3system-database0x2DBWizard!1134683811|0/__pm0x3system-database0x2DBWizard!1134683811|0_view?adapterAbstractName=console.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar%3FJ2EEApplication%3Dnull%2Cj2eeType%3DResourceAdapterModule%2Cname%3Dconsole.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar&mode=editExisting&abstractName=console.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar%3FJ2EEApplication%3Dnull%2CJCAConnectionFactory%3DMyDataSource%2CJCAResource%3Dconsole.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar%2CResourceAdapter%3Dconsole.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar%2CResourceAdapterModule%3Dconsole.dbpool%2FMyDataSource%2F1.0%2Frar%2Cj2eeType%3DJCAManagedConnectionFactory%2Cname%3DMyDataSource
It's not just any data source. If I create a Derby data source, I can edit
it. What I can't edit is my DB2 data source. Of course I had to add
libraries in order to get that data source working.
Since you believe editing is fixed in 2.1.1, and the JIRA says deleting is
fixed in 2.1.1, I look forward to the release of 2.1.1. Thank you.

Wayne,
Were you actually unable to edit the datasource?
What I have experienced is that the 'info' message appears in the log, but
the action completes successfully.
Also, what version of Geronimo are you using?
I believe that the problem is already corrected in the soon to be released
version 2.1.1.
