This bug is caused by new and incomplete migration to gradle build, introduced in 0.8.1 through KAFKA-1171.
Before this 0.8.0 had sources and javadoc jars published (see [here|http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/kafka/kafka_2.10/0.8.0/])
