Minutes JDO TCK Conference Call Friday, May 27, 9 am PST
Attendees: Michelle Caisse, Michael Bouschen, Martin Zaun, Michael
Watzek, Matthew Adams, Craig Russell, Erik Bengtson
Agenda:
1. Test status (Michelle) 4 types of errors that cause most of the
problems. Cleanup problem JDO-48 fixed, others are JPOX issues, some
should have been fixed with nightly build. But now some tests hang.
Filed JDO-58. AI Michael Watzek will look at it.
2. TestRunner status. Michelle has sent a proposal and thinks we can do
the test runner as a Maven goal. Just a few issues being discussed on
the jdo-dev alias.
3. Test cleanup fix: checked in, mostly works. May need another bit of
work to make sure we don't close an already-closed PMF.
4. Michael Watzek looking into enhancer test issues. They need to be
updated to the JDO 2.0 contracts. The tests depend on the new
enhancer20 project.
AI: Michael Watzek to check in the dependency, rename the tests, and
give Erik information need to run the tests.
AI: Erik Bengtson to change JPOX for the incorrect access modifiers for
the persistent fields.
5. Detached objects (Matthew) no change.
6. Matthew is now a committer. Woot.
AI: Martin will update the wiki with information on what committers
need to do to participate.
7. XML Schema (Brian T) no change.
8. JDO API release on ibiblio (Brian T) no change.
Other issues and status (any and all)
AI: Michael will post the btree mdr .zip sources on the JDO Wiki in
case of problems downloading it from Netbeans. And put a note into
README.txt.
9. Apache accounts for Matthew and Eric (Craig) Bugged Geir again.
AI: Craig will bug him yet again.
10. Martin found double-check locking in the PMF.
AI: Martin will fix this in projects fostore11 and runtime20.
11. [May 20 2005] AI: Craig file JIRA bug and fix this. Can test cases
rely on JDOHelper for state interrogation of non-binary-compatibility
classes? Yes, but the JDOImplHelper class has not implemented the
functionality yet.
Resolved action items:
Done with re-factoring effort, checked in. New packages core20,
enhancer20, runtime20, query20, fostore20. Michael has checked these
into the repository.
Action Items from weeks past:
[April 15 2005] AI Brian Topping will update the wiki to tell how to
access our releases area.
[April 15 2005] AI Brian Topping will do the maven goal for creating
and uploading the snapshots. He will create a directory parallel to
trunk called "releases" and put the snapshots there.
[April 15 2005] AI Matthew will create a directory in the
tck.api.persistencemanager called detach in which he will have complete
freedom to implement the assertions in the detach section of the
specification.
[April 22 2005] AI Craig will resolve what happens if an application
identity field is changed while the object is detached.
[April 22 2005] AI Craig will resolve the serialization contract for a
Detachable class so that implementations interoperate.
[May 13 2005] AI Brian Topping will implement pushing SNAPSHOT builds
of the project to ibiblio.
[May 13 2005] AI Craig ask Geir where the committer badges are for
Erik, and Michael Watsek.
[May 13 2005] AI Brian Topping will arrange for automated nightly
builds.
[May 13 2005] AI Martin Zaun will investigate JSR 294 (Java 5) to see
impact on enhancer.
[May 13 2005] AI Geoff try to get tck20 to run with JDOMax.
[May 20 2005] AI Craig will find out how to get automatic notification
from JIRA when a new issue is filed?
[May 20 2005] AI Craig to define the JCP distributions and see if maven
can help.
