Integrating Shindig with existing container

Hello,

I want  to know about how to implement Shindig's open social features.
i.e: Which are the interfaces to implement, the services to be handled,
using existing persistence  etc.
Is it enough only to customize the stuff which comes with the sample
container code?

I would appreciate if anyone can direct me towards some documentation or
share your knowledge.
