Xalan-C: Namespace handling in Xerces

A previous message seemed to indicate some rejoicing in the Xalan-J world
when Xerces-J implemented SAX 2 and Xalan-J could jettison its private namespace
mapping code.  Would implementing SAX2 in Xerces-C benefit Xalan-C?
Is the code to handle namespace mapping in Xalan-C adaptable to be placed in Xerces-C.
