When I try to download any of the attached files from VELOCITY-453 I get a Tomcat error.

Resolution: Fixed
I think this was due to JIRA running as root on the server for a while, which caused some attachments to be owned as root, and not readable when JIRA was later restarted, running as the correct user. Infrastructure people: please use the /etc/init.d script to start JIRA. AFAICT it should start JIRA running the right user.

Thanks for the help!
I was successfully able to download the files after the changes by Henri. I'll let someone else close this-- my suggestion is to leave it open until the JIRA system bug is fixed.

I logged onto Brutus and took a look in the attachment directory. The broken attachments all have spaces on the end of their filenames, so I fixed things by copying them to new verisons without the spaces.
I don't know if this is user error, or a possible JIRA bug, so I'm assigning it to you Jeff so you can decide. Things should be resolved for Will, but I'll let him comment once he's been able to get at the attachments.
