REPORT #229 Details.
Project: Tomcat
Category: Bug Report
SubCategory: New Bug Report
Class: swbug
State: received
Priority: high
Severity: critical
Confidence: public
Environment:
Release: Tomcat 3.1
JVM Release: Sun JDK 1.3
Operating System: Windows NT
OS Release: 2000
Platform: Intel PIII 600
Synopsis:
Auto xfer of DocBase info from server.xml to tomcat-apache.conf is not accurate
Description:
*IT MAY NOT BE A BUG AFTER ALL. IF SO, PARDON MY IGNORANCE*
When tomcat starts, it creates a new tomcat-apache.conf file. It includes Alias and ApJservMount information dervied from enteries in server.xml. The Alias and directory attributes' information does not match the DOCBASE information given in the server.xml *IF* the docbase was reported to be someplace other than <TOMCAT_HOME>/webapps/<CONTEXT NAME>.
It seems that no matter what the value of docbase, the auto generated tomcat-apache file just hardcodes the directory and alias information to be <TOMCAT_HOME>/webapps/<CONTEXT NAME>.
