Cocoon sent 0 data to the mysql server, why?

I am using cocoon with mysql.
I use tcpdump and find the message sent from my machine to the mysql
server contains no data.
does anyone have any idea why?
the driver I am using:
mysql-connector-java-3.0.11-stable-bin.jar
and I followed the cocoom wiki to set up all environment parameters and
the sample works well
