[m2] upgrading the dependancy versions for a plugin?

I am trying to use the openJPA plugin:
http://www.mavenrepository.com/artifact/org.codehaus.mojo/openjpa-maven-plugin/1.0-alpha

It states it depends upon
org.apache.openjpa<http://www.mavenrepository.com/artifact/org.apache.openjpa>:
0.9.6-incubating

But I am wanting to use version 1.0.2
How can I force this plugin to use the newer version?

Posted by "Brian E. Fox" <br...@reply.infinity.nu>.
You can't until 2.0.9...then you can specify a dependency inside the
plugin block and it will override.
