sprint at it again

unrelated to apache so hit 'd' if you please.

I now hear that sprint's latest attempt to upgrade the US<->UK
link is behind schedule (surprise surprise). Let's hope they 
don't take 6 months to fix this (which is what it took them last 
time they screwed up).

Story time...

I was at the demographics conference at W3C a few weeks ago talking with Niel
Smith who runs the UK academic cache, and he was saying at dinner how the
most recent quote that British Telecom had given them for a new 8 megabit
link between the US and the UK was 8 million pounds.  Also at this dinner
table was John Klinsen, a vice president with MCI (and a longtime IETF and
standards supportor), so we asked "Hey John, do you think MCI could make a
better offer?"  And he responded with a grandfatherly "yes, if you talk to
the right people at the right time, we can probably find a better deal."  At
which point I piped up and said "And, they'll give you $50 to switch!". 

Ha ha.  Okay, back to work.
