[Bug 56121] New: Broken links in mod_fcgid documentation.

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=56121

            Bug ID: 56121
Summary: Broken links in mod_fcgid documentation.
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.5-HEAD
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: Documentation
          Assignee: docs@httpd.apache.org
          Reporter: mike.rumph@oracle.com

The following page in the mod_fcgid documentation appears to have broken links:

For example, clicking on mod_cgi in the summary section gives the following
error:

The requested URL
/docs/trunk//x1/www/httpd.apache.org/content/mod_fcgid/mod/mod_cgi.html was not
found on this server.

And clicking on "Dynamic Content With CGI" at the end of the summary section
gives the following error:

The requested URL
/docs/trunk//x1/www/httpd.apache.org/content/mod_fcgid/howto/cgi.html was not
found on this server.

--- Comment #1 from Rich Bowen <rb...@apache.org> ---
Fixed in r1602711, sort of.

The larger problem is that mod_fcgid is outside of the main httpd tree in svn.
When the docs build, they use the main docs build process which assumes that
all the other docs are in the same directory. Which they aren't.

Probably the *right* solution is to use a full URL in the XML ...

I tried to copy the style dir over, and rebuild, and the diff was alarmingly
large. Leaving for Mike to rebuild, please.

--- Comment #4 from Mike Rumph <mi...@oracle.com> ---
Rich,

I see that you checked in a change to mod_fcgid.xml in r1602717.
I was able to build (generate) mod_fcgid.html, mod_fgcid.html.en and
mod_fcgid.xml.meta by a round about method.
I copied mod_fcgid.xml over to my httpd/trunk/docs/manual/mod directory, and
built the generated files there.
This also generated changes to several other files which are due to the
presence of mod_fcgid documentation where it isn't intended.
(mod/allmodules*, mod/directives*, mod/index*, mod/quickreference* and
sitemap*)
build/build.sh build/build.sh validate-xml and build/build.sh validate-xhtml
all worked successfully.

I copied mod_fcgid* back to my mod_fcgid SVN check out.
"svn status" showed that only mod/mod_fcgid.html.en had changed.
I checked this in with r1602959.
I then reverted all of the changes to my httpd/trunk SVN check out.

It appears that the Apache HTTP Server website has not been updated at the
following link:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_cgi.html

Thanks,

Mike

--- Comment #2 from Rich Bowen <rb...@apache.org> ---
I've put the whole URL into the seealso links, which is probably the right
longer term solution. Mike, I don't know how to rebuild this stuff. Did you
copy the entire style directory over?

Buildfile: build.xml
/home/rbowen/devel/apache/mod_fcgid/docs/manual/style/description.xml could not
be found
