OO Calc Spreadsheet showing SUM Function error
I have a spreadsheet with 30,000 floating point numbers. All numbers are
positive and greater than zero. When I use the SUM function there is a section
of cells where the sum anternatively DECREASES and then INCREASES.
Example:
sum (A1;A28000) increase
sum (A1;A27000) decrease
sum (A1;A26500) increase
sum (A1;A26100) decrease
sum (A1;A25700) increase
sum (A1;A25300) decrease
sum (A1;A25000) increase
I have attached a spreadsheet with the numbers and the SUM Functions. The first
column contains the 30,000 numbers. I have the SUM Functions in column C at the
beginning of the spreadsheet and the same Functions in column A at the end of
the spreadsheet. The literal of the SUM formula is in the column adjacent to
the Function. In the column following the literal is a statement of whether the
SUM is increasing or decreasing.
Since the numbers are ALL positive, non-zero numbers, the SUM should increase
as the range is increased. Not flip-flop between increasing and decreasing...

this is not a bug,
=sum (A1;A28000) is same as =A1+A28000
you have to use a colon : to sum a range of cells, for example =SUM(A1:A28000)

Thank you. Now the problem is clearly identified as a BCAD error. (Between
Chair and Desk).
