CentOS 7.0 vs CentOS 6.5
Has anyone on copy tried installing CDH5 on CentOS 6.6 (6.5 is the
latest claimed compatible), or the new CentOS 7.0?

Vender specific questions are best suited to the given vendor's community
support forum. For CDH, that means the Cloudera Community Forums[1].
