I just started looking at this with a view to finding an alternative to JXDatePicker.
Looking into the SwingX code, I found that this is Copyright 2004 Sun Microsystems, Inc.licensed under the GNU Lesser Public License. 
Is ti possible that this code could form part of the Oracle donation? If so, It would save a lot of work.
