[jira] [Created] (MYFACES-3315) @FacesValidator.isDefault() not processed

@FacesValidator.isDefault() not processed
-----------------------------------------

                 Key: MYFACES-3315
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-3315
             Project: MyFaces Core
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: JSR-314
    Affects Versions: 2.1.3
            Reporter: Michael Kurz
            Priority: Minor

It is not possible to add a default validator with @FacesValidator(value="someID", isDefault = true). I had to add the validator id manually in the faces-config.xml to make it work.

It looks like the isValid() element is not processed in AnnotationConfigurator.

[jira] [Resolved] (MYFACES-3315) @FacesValidator.isDefault() not processed

Posted by "Leonardo Uribe (Resolved) (JIRA)" <de...@myfaces.apache.org>.

Leonardo Uribe resolved MYFACES-3315.
-------------------------------------

       Resolution: Fixed
    Fix Version/s: 2.1.4
                   2.0.10
         Assignee: Leonardo Uribe

There is a difference between register it using annotation and using a faces-config entry by JSF 2.0 spec section 3.5.3:

"... Any configuration resource that declares a list of default validators overrides any list provided in a previously processed configuration resource. If an empty <default-validators/> element is found in a configuration resource, the list of default validators must be cleared ..."

If a validator is marked as default on the annotation a empty entry on a faces-config.xml will have no effect (see definition of configuration resources on section 11.4 and 11.5).
