Open Office

I have a new MacBook Pro, Yosemite OS X 10.10.3
I downloaded Open Office. I couldn’t open it because my mac won’t let me open an app that I didn’t get through the app store. Is there a way around this? I’ve heard many great things about Open Office.

Open System Preferences -> Security and Privacy and select Anywhere under Allow Apps downloaded from:
Then openOpen Office.
