[jira] [Commented] (SYNCOPE-152) Support SCIM REST API

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SYNCOPE-152?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15217797#comment-15217797 ]

Colm O hEigeartaigh commented on SYNCOPE-152:
---------------------------------------------

I wonder what the desired scope of this task is? Perhaps a reasonable starting point might be to support the SCIM User, Group and Self endpoints, mapping to internal Syncope Users and Groups? In other words, support the ability to export and import Users + Groups via a REST API. I'm not sure if supporting other Resource Types, Schemas etc., is particularly useful or do-able. Thoughts?

Assuming this is a reasonable objective, then I wonder do we need Escimo at all here, given that we already have a REST API that is not a million miles away from the SCIM protocols, that can already emit JSON. Perhaps we need some kind of mapping layer to map between internal attributes and SCIM-standard attributes?

Colm.
