Install difficulty
I am unable to get my Cocoon configuration installed and working properly.
My development server is MS NT4.0 sp4 Workstation.
Tomcat is 3.2.1
I am pointing everything to Java jdk1.3
I have used an Apache 1.3 to front end and have gone directly to Tomcat at
port 8080 with equal results.
My machine name is cb on a 192.168 internal network.
Any quidance would be greatly appreciated.
Following are some settings and debugging results.
Bob Garvey
When I set debug="100" in all the server.xml debug entries I get the
following:
2000-12-23 09:24:14 - ContextManager: Adding context Ctx( /cocoon1.8 )
2000-12-23 09:24:14 - ContextManager: Adding context Ctx( /examples )

At other times when I have set debug to 50 I got an NullPointerException on
a getName call which does
not seem to be playing out now. I suspect that as a problem with the 404's.
When I issue:http://cb:8080/servlet/org.apache.cocoon.Cocoon
I get a nicely formatted screen with:
-------------------

The servlet initialization argument "properties" was not found. Please, make
sure Cocoon is able to find its configurations or it won't be able to
execute correctly.
A template for such configurations may be found in the file
"/conf/cocoon.properties" in the distribution.

Re: Install difficulty
Posted by Bob Garvey <bo...@home.com>.
I got things to work so I am replying to myself.
I added the entries that were to go in %TOMCAT_HOME%/conf/web.xml to
%TOMCAT_HOME%/webapps/ROOT/webinf/web.xml and things took off.
I also had to add some libraries to the tomcat.bat but that was secondary.
Hope this is helpful to someone else.
