[jira] [Commented] (KAFKA-2368) Add Copycat standalone CLI

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-2368?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14908850#comment-14908850 ]

Ewen Cheslack-Postava commented on KAFKA-2368:
----------------------------------------------

Right now this interface is extremely simple:

{quote}
Usage: CopycatStandalone worker.properties connector1.properties [connector2.properties ...]
{quote}

Anyone have any issues with this? Think it's missing anything? Want alternative ways to set configs (e.g. some other CLI tools we have allow setting properties via a --property flag)? Since connectors aren't persistent in standalone mode, I think the existing CLI is probably pretty functionally complete.

> Define and add the CLI for running Copycat in standalone mode. KAFKA-2366 may add a simple version, but this JIRA should address agreeing on the final interface for the functionality defined in KIP-26, which proposed a basic API but may need further extension.
> Since the standalone mode is not meant to be persistent, this may end up being a pretty straightforward API. However, it should cleanly handle both worker-level configs and multiple connector configs.
