Do we have a "powered by Apache Cocoon" logo?

...if not, is there a volunteer with good graphic skills and enough
Copious Free Time to create one?

I'm thinking of something simple based on the logo
http://cocoon.apache.org/images/cocoon-logo.gif. It might be a good to
thing to have on the websites of users who agree.

Note that this vector logo is stored in Illustrator format as
misc/graphics/cocoon2.ai - I think, because I cannot open it with my
Illustrator 10, it says "incorrect operator: 'd0'".

Yep, that's a small logo I made a while ago using the same "mini button"
style that is used for a lot of buttons on blogs nowadays.

If you like it... feel free to use it, change it, add it to SVN,....

hmmm...not to be picky but it's missing the "powered by" words and it's
not "our" logo, I'd much prefer the same look as our official logo.

There is a nice small powered by logo at http://users.skynet.be/litrik/
Maybe we can ask that person to donate it.

Well, these are only generic logos, and not ones using the nice Cocoon
logo :-)

Sylvain,
They are over at forrest:

Do a
svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/forrest/trunk/tools/logos/ .
ant

to build all the logos..

Have you tried "cocoon.svg"? It's an SVG export or cocoon2.ai.

We also used to have a bunch of logos in CVS [1], but for a strange
reason they've been deleted and not moved. Perhaps a mistake, in which
case we can ressurect them.

Here's an alternate version at
http://codeconsult.ch/download/cocoon/powered-by-cocoon-02.svg

The "powered by" text could be improved but that's the idea.

now for every size, I uploaded the logo again as SVG:

Thanks, for me this is the closest to our "brand image", I like it!

I'd only lower the "powered by" text so that the bottom of the letters
intersects with the box, and change the color of the letters to white
where they intersect.

Do you have it in vector format? I think we need to create a big and a
small version.

Then, we can maybe vote for an "official" version of this logo to
recommend to our users, I suggest yours in two sizes, and Stefano's, so
that people can choose a dark or light color depending on their site's
look.

looks something like
http://www.triplemind.com/images/powered-by-cocoon160x48.png than.

It's a little dirty I think. Perheaps a border in the same style as the
cocoon logo would make it better.

I think you're looking for
trunk/src/webapp/resources/logos/cocoon-buttons-powered-88.png

That's as close as we ever got, I think... unfortunately we don't have
anything larger.

I don't have Illustrator in front of me on my laptop, so when I get home
I'll see what I can do about opening it up -- the file could have gotten
corrupted when we moved to SVN and didn't keep the binary properties of
the file... I seem to remember that happening a few times with some of
the original artwork.

You could also try opening it in Photoshop if you have that, just to be
able to rasterize a layer or two, but don't re-save the AI.

Thanks for the pointer - I like the idea, only it's the old logo color
(IIUC, I assume http://cocoon.apache.org/images/cocoon-logo.gif is our
official color now?).

I'll try to talk my daughter into doing a new one, unless someone beats
us to it. She's usually pretty good at this.

Can someone help with opening the cocoon2.ai file, or another vector
version of same? As mentioned previously, when I try to open it with my
Illustrator 10, it says "incorrect operator: 'd0'".

Don't know what you're looking for exactly, but Stefano is using a "powered by
Cocoon" logo:
