how to Filter output from a jsp

Hi,

I have links in my view's jsp pages which I would like to filter. In 
other words I want to use the servlet 2.3 's filtering API to filter all 
links,
 changing the content of those links based on some arbitrary condition.

How would I do this? I have looked at the API and the spec and also some 
articles on the use of filters but I have seen no information on how to 
filter the output from a jsp.
