in a related note, have we documented that upgrades from 1.5 and earlier to 1.8 and later isn't possible? I don't see anything in the 1.8.0 release notes nor the [1.8 user guide's section on upgrade issues|http://accumulo.apache.org/1.8/accumulo_user_manual#_upgrade_issues], for example.
