1.6 CHANGES and Release Notes

Hi all.

The clock is ticking on the 1.6.0 release soak period. Before we
release 1.6.0-final, we need to finish the release notes and CHANGES
file. Do we have any volunteers to coordinate this effort?

(Note that I said "coordinate" not "do". For 1.5, Karl used the
intelligence of the community to work on CHANGES, and it turned out
pretty well. We could probably do the same with the 1.6.)

I'll stick my hand up to assist with the changes file again, if needed.

You'll probably want to work with one of the red beaners (C-Mike,
kfogel, etc.) to coordinate access to that repository. Either that,
or setup a repository of your own somewhere you can admin it.

Ok...I already started with mailing things to user/dev ...

I have taken a look into the old repository
(http://svn.red-bean.com/repos/manyhands) and i already have access and
commit permission...
I prepared the CHANGES files (copy from the current trunk) and put in
the revision log for the current trunk (revisions.txt) and an export
from issue tracking system from tigris into issues-resolved.txt).

What might be checked is the old mailing list, cause we can reuse it...

But i have no access to give some of the other volunteers (hopefully
many) access to the repository ....that must be handled different...
And for the mailing list as well...

Karl,
You're welcome to help. You seem to be familiar with the process Karl
Fogel used for the 1.5 release, and I'd encourage you to take the lead
in coordinating this effort.

Hi there,

i would suggest to do it as for 1.5 using the manyhands mailing list and
a sandbox area for the changes files....as you already mentioned....

go over the commit messages and check the closed issues...

BTW: I appreciate to help...
