[jira] [Commented] (COUCHDB-769) Store large attachments external to the .couch file

Kristian Rink commented on COUCHDB-769:
---------------------------------------

Voted for this, any progress on this? We're slowly into adopting CouchDB for quite an array of different use cases, but switching even smaller ones of these quickly would leave us end up with insanely large .couch files ( gigabytes at least, each) or fiddling with doing this on our own (introducing some sort of "link" and manually storing binary files in some place on, say, an external NetApp filer share).

> For attachment-heavy applications storing the attachments in separate files significantly eases compaction problems.
