Syncing the build system

Currently we two different build systems in 2.1.x and trunk. For example
2.1.x uses the improved jar handling (all jars in lib/optional), but it
seems there are more differences.

Is there a reason why they differ? Can please someone apply the changes
he did to one branch to the other one as well?

Thanks
Carsten

Now it builds fine. Thanks.

Obviously I like responding to my own mails...

I just updated trunk and it now uses the improved jar handling from
2.1.x; therefore I had to make some changes to gump.xml; don't know what
gump is saying about it, so be warned if gump chokes.
