Redirecting

I have a link that gets set within an action which I need to URI to
redirect to.  How might I go about this.  It seems that I cannot use
<logic:redirect> or <logic:forward> within a JSP template because they
they don't take variables, but rather hard-coded links.  

Any suggestions?
